Last weekend I got generously invited to my first Oscar viewing party. The place was decked out in balloons, retro pop corn bags, and star confetti sprinkled on tables. People dressed like winners. There was an open bar and judging from how fun everyone was having, the wine was greaaat. But personally, they had me at red velvet cheesecake. Also, there was a spotlight and a red carpet so.
More importantly, I got to watch the Oscars with other people who cared about it as much as I do. Normally - as I've been doing this whole award season - I've watched and celebrated alone. Which is great but it's good to be reminded that others still care about it too.
